Mrs. Dean's Lab

Kitchen Labs

Throughout the 9-weeks, we will have 3-4 kitchen labs. Some labs may take 2 days. Class and individual participation in kitchen labs will depend on class and individual behavior throughout the 9 weeks.

Lab Rules
  1. If you have long hair, put it up.
  2. Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap before you begin the lab. If you touch something and return to your lab, you must wash your hands again.
  3. There are 2 sink that are designated for washing hands only.
  4. Apron are available.
  5. Team work is necessary in the kitchen.  Work together as a group and stay positive.
  6. All supplies should be out and ready to be used.
  7. No sampling of food while cooking & no extras. There are approximately 100 students cooking each 9 weeks and we need to conserve food.
  8. EVERYONE shares in the duties of the kitchen.  So this means that you will be doing dishes, wiping tables, cooking, and sweeping along with other duties.
  9. If you spill something in the floor, you must clean it up immediately.
  10. You may play cards while you are waiting on your turn unless there are duties needing to be done in the kitchen.
  11. No throwing game pieces.
  12. THINK! Do not do anything that could cause you or someone else injury.
